At the same time, the setting of new technical standards and industry thresholds may put the vast majority of low-speed electric vehicle manufacturers under great pressure for survival and development. It is understood that in terms of batteries, the new standard will uniformly require the use of lithium batteries. In fact, whether for cost or safety reasons, the use of lead-acid batteries in low-speed electric vehicles is more in line with the market demand.
A relevant person in the low-speed electric vehicle industry said that the use of low-speed electric vehicles is basically concentrated in the suburban market of third and fourth tier cities, but some technical terms formulated in the new standard actually refer to the idea of electric passenger vehicles. "If we make low-speed electric vehicles according to this idea, first, it is unnecessary, and second, it will increase the cost of buying cars for consumers, which does not meet the needs of the market."
In fact, many experts in the industry also called for caution in the formulation of low-speed electric vehicle standards. Fu Yuwu, President of China Society of automotive engineering, said: "there should be a threshold for standards, but the threshold should not be too high."
