The LG Chemical new energy battery project in Nanjing Economic and Technological Development Zone was officially completed and put into operation recently. The development zone is expected to become the world's largest production base of electric vehicle batteries.

  According to the relevant person in charge of Nanjing Economic and Technological Development Zone, the project was settled in Nanjing Development Zone last September. The total construction area of phase I plant reached 80000 m2, which is the size of three football fields and divided into three floors. It has an annual production scale of more than 100000 new energy vehicle batteries. In order to fully meet the diversified needs of local customers in China, the factory located in Nanjing Development Zone will produce integrated battery products from single cell, battery pack to battery pack. It is expected to be officially put into mass production in 2016 after commissioning at the end of 2015.

  According to the person in charge of the project, LG Chemical has ensured that more than half of the customers of China's "top 10" vehicle manufacturers, including SAIC, Dongfeng and FAW, and the products cover a variety of specifications of batteries from cars to pure electric buses. At the same time, Nanjing factory has locked the order volume in 2016 in advance with Chinese local customers and foreign brand customers stationed in the Chinese market.
